Project History

Solar Project History ( 2010 – Present)

1 MW Solar Project Acushnet, Massachusetts

This solar project was awarded by the utility as a pilot project. ASIDACO performed the utility interconnection design development and agreement process for this 1MW medium voltage renewable energy generation project. The design required overcoming several obstacles including “medium voltage flicker” expected to be experienced on the utility lines. ASIDACO’s design team provided a power quality solution to this problem and demonstrating its ability to control voltage flicker. The utility company eventually approved the interconnection of the facility due to the performance of the ASIDACO team during the utility integration meetings and presentational reviews. Eventually the utility company decided to move forward with an interconnection without the need for the hybrid power quality design due to internal changes in their policy. The project has been completed without the use of additional equipment to mitigate flicker and is operational today.

4 MW Solar Project Athol, Massachusetts

ASIDACO performed the conceptual design and cost budget for a 65 KV transmission connection for this project. Andrea and the ASIDACO team was called onto the project by the t owner due to a utility line power capacity limit problem on the available 13.8 medium voltage distribution line the project was originally expected to connect to. The owner decided not to approach the lengthy process required for a transmission interconnection even though the projected cost of the conceptual design and interconnection was viable.

9 MW Solar Project Fall River, Massachusetts

ASIDACO contributed to existing interconnection meetings between the client (an energy project developer) and the utility. The meetings included the review of an existing medium voltage integration design and its approval to connect to the local distribution network. She was brought on the project due to problems associated with expected power quality issues found during the impact study performed by the utility. ASIDACO led discussions with the utility and presented several options with timelines and high level cost estimates for the owner to review. The client moved forward with the project and final interconnection agreements while utilizing a path chosen from several options presented to the client in both narrative and flow chart explanations presented by the ASIDACO team. The project moved on to be under construction.

200 KW Solar Project Plymouth, Massachusetts

ASIDACO designed and directed the engineered drawings and construction control of this low voltage renewable energy generation project. The system was the largest in Plymouth, MA at that time and is in operation today. During this project there were several sourcing issues. ASIDACO provided solutions to these issues by sourcing products for them in a timely fashion. End of the year time constraints were a key worry for the client due to the expiration of certain incentives retiring at the end of year. ASIDACO worked diligently to assist in the final installation execution and provided timely construction control to have a final inspection on the system completed on time and prior to year’s end. The project was successfully completed and is in operation today.

50 KW Solar Project New Bedford, Massachusetts
ASIDACO designed and produced the engineered drawings, directed and commissioned the construction, procured and installed integration equipment, and energy storage for this low voltage renewable energy generation project. The system was the largest and first in the town of New Bedford to be installed and taken off grid at that time. During this project there were several facility issues to overcome. ASIDACO provided solutions to these issues by providing consulting and direction for them in a timely fashion. ASIDACO worked diligently to assist in the final execution of this project and provided construction control. The project is in operation today.

1 MW Solar Project Fairhaven, Massachusetts

ASIDACO performed the utility interconnection design development & agreement process for this 1MW medium voltage renewable energy generation project. The utility company eventually approved the interconnection of the facility due to the performance of the ASIDACO team during the utility integration meetings and presentational reviews. Due to a change in project Owner plans the system was never built.

6.5 KW Solar Project Dayton Ohio

This Solar Project was designed and built by ASIDACO in a historic residential section of Dayton Ohio. The ASIDACO team constructed this project utilizing both roof and structural mounting solutions after ASIDACO had several months of zoning meetings with the city of Dayton. neighborhood board and the zoning commission concerning a zoning variance to allow ASIDACO to construct the system. The system consists of a 7600 watt single phase string inverter with power optimizers at each panel to produce an optimal output capable of feeding power back into the utility grid while also being able to go ‘off grid’ during a utility power outage while relying on battery back- up. The system is fully functional at this time.

7KW Solar Project Repair, Dayton Ohio

ASIDACO was hired to remove and replace a rooftop solar array while replacing sections that were damaged by rodents in the area. The system utilizes micro-inverters. New Commercial “Tenant Fit Out” Dayton, Ohio This was performed in a multi-use facility with space conversions from industrial to commercial for the Future space of ‘Think TV’ public television. It required new electrical sub panel, conduit, lighting, switches, and receptacles. ASIDACO design provided for future access to the sub-panel and raceway installation to accommodate a larger amount of power if required. It also allowed for future electrical distribution raceways in the common area for additional tenant spaces as they are added.

Industrial, Commercial and Residential Electrical Projects Performed by ASIDACO ( 2010 – Present)

Commercial Electrical Distribution Replacement Covington, Ohio

An electrical service “call to action” was required to perform the quick replacement of an electrical distribution system comprised of antiquated Federal Pacific Service equipment and breakers. This timely replacement was required by the insurance company due to the adherent known issues associated with Federal Pacific Breakers. ASIDACO design provided to accommodations for installation additional amount of power if required.

Commercial Electrical Service Project Wilmington, Ohio

This project a 400 Ampere 240 volt Single phase, required the timely utility integration services of ASIDACO. The underground feeder was an existing direct burial cable and had eroded and shorted out the electrical service at the pad mounted utility transformer. ASIDACO conducted a scheduled utility primary outage and reenergizing of the line in a timely fashion so as to minimize the down time of operations at the light industrial facility. ASIDACO successfully pre-planned with the utility to enter into the medium voltage transformer, managed the work, designed new feeders and conduit installation, and performed the installation for the new underground electrical service at the location.

Commercial Electrical Service and Distribution Project Dayton, Ohio

ASIDACO was the prime electrical contractor on the construction of a new craft beer bar and video game arcade in downtown Dayton. The arcade has several old video games utilizing CRT screens which consume high amounts of power. Several new dedicated circuits were needed because of the power consumption of these games. The amount of total power required by the “brewcade” was 210 KVA three phase. ASIDACO also designed and installed the lighting system. The project consisted of new C.T. utility cabinet, 4 inch galvanized rigid conduit, 750 KCM electrical cable installation and new 400 ampere ‘Main Breaker’ panel boards. The interior power and lighting was distributed throughout the building by implementing both exposed conduit runs requiring quality installation and workmanship in the design and layout of the raceways.

Commercial Building Renovation Kettering, Ohio

Project included Complete Electrical Drawings, Lighting design and electrical construction for the renovation of an existing 8,700 Square Foot Restaurant that had been vacant for years several years. This facility required complete electrical, mechanical and cosmetic renovation s in order for a restaurant chain to move into the structure. ASIDACO delivered with several Energy Efficiency techniques, Tel/data infrastructure, electrical construction management with installation, and a lighting design response. ASIDACO implemented these updates while working with the local utility company to reduce the overall cost the use of monetary rebates offered by the utility company and the Department of Energy. ASIDACO also implemented L.E.D. decorative lighting to create an array of colors and scenes producing an enhancing visual effect for the bar section of the establishment.

Commercial Project Community Center Dayton, Ohio

ASIDACO was the Electrical Contractor and the GC on re-construction of an existing building damaged by a fire. A complete new electrical system was required. The amount of total power required by the project was 350 KVA single phase. ASIDACO also designed and installed the lighting system. The project consisted of a new C.T. utility cabinet; 4 inch galvanized rigid conduit, 750 KCM electrical cable installation and a new 600 ampere ‘Main service and panel boards.
